Caltech Athletics : Matt Kiesz Is A Conference Champion

Claremont, CA - Matt Kiesz, Senor from Lodi, CA finishes in 1st place in the men's 1500m with a time of 4:05.99. "Kiesz ran a smart race and it was so exciting to see him finish his career as a conference champion" commented Coach Julie Levesque. The last time that Caltech had a conference champion in the 1500m was 1974 and it was our school record holder, Alan Kleinsasser. He ran a 4:10.8

Matt also finished 3rd in the conference in the 800m and he ran the 3rd leg (51.45) of the 4X400 Relay.

Several Beaver men and women had banner performances at this year's SCIAC CHAMPIONSHIPS.
