Having a healthy, active lifestyle is not a concept reserved for professional athletes or health and fitness professionals.  At Caltech, we believe wellness is for everyone.  Our group exercise programs follow basic physical fitness principles to help individuals of all fitness levels and interests achieve their physical fitness goals.  Our fitness program is organized by 5 periods, allowing individuals an opportunity to progress to more advanced classes.  During breaks between periods, we offer reduced schedule of classes.  allowing for appropriate rest and recovery.  This format also enables participants to try different activities.  Classes emphasize various components of physical fitness, including cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility.  Other classes emphasize skill-related elements including speed, balance, and coordination.
