SAAC Teams With Athletic Department for Take Our Children to Work Day

Apr 23, 2009

Today, members of the Caltech SAAC along with coaches and administrators from the Athletic Department joined forces to work with a group of 65 Caltech Kids as a part of the annual "Take Our Children to Work Day".  The children spent an hour at the Athletic Center as part of the day and had an opportunity to play indoor soccer and run a relay race on the track.

"Take Our Children to Work Day" is an opportunity for Caltech personnel to introduce their children in fourth through twelfth grades to the exciting things that go on at Caltech and to interest them in careers that will be important to their futures and to the future of our nation.

Pictured with the visiting kids is senior track and field student-athlete Zack Higbee, president of the Caltech SAAC sporting his signature orange dyed hair which is a sign that SCIAC Track and Field Championships are this weekend.  It is a tradition that members of the Beavers track and field teams dye their hair Caltech orange to show school pride and spirit for SCIAC's.

A special note of thanks to student-athletes Zack Higbee, Bettina Chen and Michelle Jiang along with Soccer Coach Rolo Uribe, Tennis Coach Mandy Gamble and Head Athletic Trainer Andres Alamillo.

GO TECH!!!
