Caltech Tennis Teams Receive Academic Accolades

PASADENA, Calif. – Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams for Caltech were recognized with all-academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

All-Academic honors are handed out to teams with a collective GPA over 3.2 and to individuals with a GPA over 3.5 who won varsity letters and were enrolled for at least two semesters at their institution.

This is the fourth consecutive year, and the fifth year out of six that the men’s team has been honored with ITA All-Academic Honors.   Every member of the 15 member team had a GPA above 3.0 and the team as a whole sported a 3.6 GPA.

The women’s tennis team was recognized for the fourth year out of the past six and the second straight season.  The 14 members of the women’s team had a combined GPA of 3.4.

Nineteen Caltech student-athletes were named to the ITA All-Academic Honors squad.  Fred Zhao was named to the team for the fourth consecutive season.  Anish Agarwal, Brian Kim, Alex Runkel, Cici Li, and Alison Parisian all made the team for the third straight year.  Jeff Shen, Michelle Tang, Jessica Yeung, and Caroline Yu all secured their second straight appearance on the ITA All-Academic List.
