William Murray joined the Caltech track & field staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2017 outdoor season.
Caltech will be the Fontana, Calif. native's first foray into the coaching side of track & field. He began his career at Buffalo State College in 2009, where he went on to compete in the 4x100 relay at the 2011 Division III Outdoor Championship. He is also a member of the 2011 school record 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. He transferred to Texas State University in August 2011, where he would join the track & field team as a walk on. Making the jump to Division I, Murray captained and led the Bobcats to the 2013 Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship and is a former two-time long jump competitor in the prelimary rounds at the NCAA Outdoor National Championship.
Murray, who graduated Texas State with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice, also works for BI Incorporated as a Criminal Justice Specialist.
