Another 14 Named Academic All-SCIAC for Winter Season

PASADENA, Calif. (Mar. 25, 2015) – Another 14 Caltech student-athletes have been named to the SCIAC All-Academic Team for the winter season, the conference announced today.

After besting last fall’s total with nine additional student-athletes making the cut this year, an additional four Beavers earned recognition this winter compared to last, bringing the 2014-15 total to 49 already.

To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.4 cumulative grade point average at the current institution, must have completed one full calendar year at the at the current institution and must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.

Women’s basketball and men’s swimming and diving were represented by five student-athletes each – two more apiece than last winter.  Men’s basketball also landed three after none were honored last winter.  Four Beavers made the list for the second time this year - senior Juan Adame (Sylmar, Calif. / Sylmar Math/Science Technology), juniors Patric Eck (Fullerton, Calif. / Troy) and Galen Gao (Irving, Texas / St. Mark’s School) and sophomore Chris Bradley (Half Moon Bay, Calif. / Serra).
