Caltech Athletics : Foul Weather Hampers Opener with Dodgertown West

Coach John D'Auria and company were ready and anxious to open the 2009 season with their traditional exhibition doubleheader against Dodgertown West this weekend but the weather would not cooperate. The Beav's will now take on Simpson University of Redding, CA in their season opener on January 31st.

This year's edition of the Beaver baseball team includes some impressive senor leadership in Kevin Noertker, Matt Glassman, Meng Tan and Nick Kramer. Add in the talents of junior Mike Gherini, sophomores Rob Roseberg and Tommy Heavey then mix in with freshmen Daniel Sexton, Eric Schropp and Nick Butler. Caltech looks to have strong pitching and hopes to add some timely hitting to the equation. "We should be very solid through the middle of the batting order which will make for some fun on offense" commented D'Auria.

First pitch will be at 12:00OPM on Saturday, 1/31 with the second game to follow 30 minutes after game one.
