Caltech, University of Redlands Dual in SCIAC Series

The Caltech baseball continued SCIAC play as they faced off in a three-game set against the University of Redlands.

The first two games of the series were played at the University of Redlands with the final game held at Caltech.

Game One – University of Redlands 14, Caltech 0 (Box Score)

The University of Redlands team banged out 15 hits during their 14-0 win. The Bulldogs broke open the contest with a 10-run fourth inning to up their lead from 3-0 to 13-0.

Four pitchers held the Beavers offense to three hits while striking out eight Caltech batters.

Brian Penserini, Daniel Sexton and Nick Robertson produced Caltech three hits.

Game Two – University of Redlands 12, Caltech 0 (Box Score)

The Bulldogs scored a run in all but one frame during their 12-0 seven-inning win. Kyle Hart, Casey Miller and Brock Jacobo combined to throw a perfect game. The trio of hurlers struck out seven.

Alex Scheiwe had a Bulldog best three-hits. The centerfield also drove in two runs while scoring two asll well. Landon McMath and Petter Overton-Harris each tallied three RBI's in the win.

Game Three – University of Redlands 22, Caltech 0 (Box Score)

Four Bulldog pitchers held Caltech to three hits while their offense tallied 21 hits in a 22-0 win over the Beavers.

The University of Redlands offense was led by Chase Mersola who went 3-for-6 with two runs scored in the seven-innning contest. Jason Henning had a productive day as the third baseman had three hits while notching five RBI's and scoring two runs.

Caltech's three hits came from the trio of Mason Freedman, Daniel Sexton and Albie Lavin.
