Caltech Athletics : Beavers Visit Anteaters of UC Irvine

Saturday, February 23rd was a big day for the Caltech Fencing team. The Beavers spent a long day at the IFCSC North vs. South tourney hosted by UC Irvine. Caltech fencers enjoyed some strong finishes, in particular Vanessa Burns and David Romney in saber who both went 11-1 on the day. Vanessa also managed to win the overall season conference standings, which is a most rewarding achievement as she is only a freshman in her first year of collegiate fencing. Other Top 8 finishers in the overall standings were David Romney in men's saber (5^th), Laura Burns in women's saber (6th) another amazing performance as she too is a in her first year of collegiate fencing. Finally, to cap off the day, Eric Mintun finished (8^th) men's epee.

Next up is the NCAA West Regional at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, March 2nd, the competitors are to be deteremined.
