GARDENA, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2017) – Caltech men's soccer generated chances but came up just shy of its second victory of 2017 against George Fox University Wednesday. The Beavers fell to the Bruins, 1-0, at Pacific Lutheran University.
Sophomore forward Kevin Yu (Park Ridge, N.J. / Park Ridge) found the most success in chance creation, tallying four shots, three of which found their way to the keeper. The sophomore was also responsible for two of the Beavers' four shots in goal in the second half. Caltech made its presence felt with a dominant first half where they outshot the Bruins 11-6.
Senior midfielder Chris Haack (New York, N.Y. / The Browning School), junior attacker Tristan Née (Carrollton, Texas / R.L. Turner) and freshman defender Alfred Joseph (Tellakom, India / Lexington) each registered one shot on goal.
Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will play the third game of their five-game road swing when they open SCIAC play at Occidental College on Saturday, Sept. 9th at 7 p.m.
