Men's Soccer Goes Toe-to-Toe with Chapman Again

ORANGE, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2018) – For the second time this year, the Caltech men's soccer team came one goal away from taking down Chapman University for its first SCIAC win since 2011.

The men's soccer team was led by sophomore Joe Como (Glen Cove, N.Y. / Friends Acad.) between the pipes with six key saves that helped keep the host Panthers off the board for the first 84 minutes of the game. The Caltech defense, led by sophomores Andrew Larson (Portland, Ore. / Jesuit) and JD Walker (Grand Blanc, Mich. / Grand Blanc) played an aggressive game to keep more than half of Chapman's total shots off target. The Beavers' best scoring chance came off a shot-on-goal from freshman midfielder Velissarios Christodolou (Athens, Greece / Athens College) in the 83rd minute.

Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will finish up the 2018 season at home, starting with Occidental College on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m.
