Gallup Earns Third All-America Honor, 11th at Nationals

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Mar. 23, 2019) – Caltech men's swimming & diving junior Thomas Gallup (Houston, Texas / Phillips Exeter Acad.) placed 11th to earn All-America Honorable Mention honors at the NCAA Division III National Championships this past weekend.

Gallup posted a new career-best time of 55.12 in the 100-yard breaststroke, bettering his freshman year mark by .04, to move up from his preliminary position of 15th to match his rookie year placing of 11th in the nation. In doing so, the junior earned Caltech a place in the team standings, marking the third straight year he has carried the Beavers to an official position among the nation's Top 50. His six points tied Caltech for 39th in the country and will garner points in the Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup for an unprecedented third consecutive season as well.

Gallup also competed in the 200 Breast and 50 Free, setting another personal best in the latter at 21.82.
