Tempe, Ariz. (Mar. 30, 2017) – Senior Ruthwick Pathireddy (Cerritos, Calif. / Whitney) is the 13th-ranked men's tennis player in the NCAA West Region, per the latest Oracle/ITA Division III Men's Rankings. The Beavers, meanwhile, stood pat in the first batch of regional team rankings to come out since November.
Pathireddy earned his way onto the list by accumulating a 5-5 record in the Beavers' top singles slot while earning significant wins throughout the non-conference schedule. Pathireddy first defeated Michael Arguello of Brandeis University, the 16th-ranked player in the nation, 4-6, 6-4, (11-9), back in February and then defeated No. 46 Brandon Griffin of the University of Mary Washington, 6-1, 6-3. Two of Pathireddy's losses came against nationally ranked players.
Head Coach Mandy Gamble and the Beavers, who are 4-6 with five of those losses having come at the hands of nationally ranked opposition, will return to action when they host Occidental College (3-7, 0-2) on Mar. 31 at 2 p.m.
