PASADENA, CA –For the second straight season men's water polo player Jack Blackwood garnered Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-American honors.
After leading the team in goals scored (51) and exclusions drawn (78) in 2012, the senior was voted honorable mention All-American. In addition, he was second on the team with 28 steals and fourth with 15 assists. He was also recognized as an honorable mention All-American in 2011.
There were 30 players who received All-American honors. Seven players were named to the first- or second-team while 16 players earned honorable mention accolades.
"Jack was such a vital part of this program's progress during his time at Caltech," said fifth year head coach Josh Moser. "From his first-year on campus till now, he has helped take Caltech from an after-thought to a competitive program headed in an extremely positive direction."
He ranks among the school's all-time leaders in goals scored with 202 while being among school's best in exclusions drawn (231).
