Blackwood had a hand in three goals over the first half and freshman Charles Ross (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) impressed with nine saves over the same period, but Whittier built up an 8-3 lead at the break and put the game away with a 7-3 advantage in the second half, where freshman Billy Bloomquist (Campbell, Calif. / The Harker School) struck for a brace on assists from freshman Eshan Govil (Redwood City, Calif. / Sacred Heart Prep) and junior Christopher Bradley (Half Moon Bay, Calif. / Serra), who scored in the second quarter.  Sophomore Richard May (Guilford, Conn. / Choate Rosemary Hall) also tallied an assist while Blackwood added three steals and two field blocks and junior Tomas Tussie (Weston, Fla. / Cypress Bay) drew four exclusions.  Freshman Shaurya Gilani (Chicago, Ill. / Adlai Stevenson) turned in a solid performance between the pipes in the second half, making six stops.
