PASADENA (Nov. 8, 2018) – Sophomore Steven Csaposs (Davis, Calif. / Davis) churned out five goals for the Caltech men's water polo team against visiting Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Wednesday evening.
The effort ties Csaposs' best outing of the season when he scored five goals at Chaffey College back on the first day of September. The sophomore is now up to 66 goals on the season, surpassing last year's total by five with one game left on the schedule. Senior Eshan Govil (Redwood City, Calif. / Sacred Heart Prep) helped spark the offense with two goals and one assist, while sophomore Rahul Arun (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai E Stevenson) put together another three-assist night while adding one goal himself. Senior goalkeeper Shaurya Gilani (Chicago, Ill. / Adlai Stevenson), meanwhile had his third-consecutive 10-save outing, all of which have come at home.
Prior to the game, Caltech's four senior players, including Gilani, Govil, Charles Ross (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny), David Berger Maneiro (Calabasas, Calif. / Viewpoint) received recognition for their contributions to the program over the last four years.
Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will wrap up the 2018 season at Chapman Unviversity on Saturday, Nov. 10.
