Caltech Men Defeat Cal Lutheran 111 - 101
The Caltech men's swim team enjoyed a home meet victory over visiting SCIAC foe Cal Lutheran ysterday (click here for meet results). The the Beaver men swimmers put up 111 points to the Kingsmen's 101.
Freshman diver, Justin Johnson braved the rain and wind taking 1st place in the both the 1m and 3meter events. Johnson also zoomed past the National Qualifying score in the 1 meter event by 23.5 points scoring an impressive 288 point while just missing the Q for the 3 meter by 4.75 points. "It was an exciting meet, his hard work and dedication in the past few weeks certainly showed!" exclaimed Ute Zimmerman, Caltech Diving Coach.
Next up for the Beav Aquatic bunch will be a non-conference
home finale duel meet on January 30th with Chaoman
University and the women with have a tri meet with the addtion
of Mills College. Caltech will then head to
Whittier College on January 31st and wrap the regular season at
Chapman on February 7th.
Coach Dodd and company have been arduiously training (even some
early am work-outs) as they prepare of the SCIAC Prelims and
Championships February 12-14 to be held this year at
Belmont Plaza Natatorium in Belmont Shores, CA. This
year's SCIAC Diving Prelims will be in El Monte on February 7 &
