OAKLAND, Calif.  – Using seven swimmers over 11 events the Caltech women's swimming squad couldn't quite pull off the win as Mills posted a 94-89 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers posted a win in five of the events.

Caltech led the dual meet through the first eight events but in the end was overcome by the larger Mills squad.

Janis Intoy had another fine meet as the junior won the 1000 yard freestyle (13:19.71) and 200 yard IM (2:35.56) competitions. The native of Stafford, Va. nearly won the 100 yard breast stroke but finished 1.25 seconds behind first place finisher Amina Dzano.

Caitlin Regan tallied victory in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:18.44. The captain finished as the runner-up in the 100 yard butterfly (1:11.48) and 100 yard freestyle (1:02.87).

Caltech also got a first place finish from Hanna Dodd's effort in the 100 yard backstroke (1:15.61). Dodd also scored points for the Beavers with a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (2:23.63) and a third place touch in the 100 yard breast stroke (1:23.73).

The Beavers 200 yard relay team of Misha Raffiee, Dodd, Intoy and Regan outswam the Mills relay squad by over six seconds (1:58.65) during the final event.
