Runners Compete at Occidental Distance Classic

LOS ANGELES – The Caltech distance runners took part in the annual Occidental Distance Classic on Friday evening.

Stephanie Reynolds led a contingent of Beaver harriers in the 1500 meter race. The junior posted a time of 5:07.46 as she finished just outside the top 30 in the nearly 100-person field. Alice Michel's time was second best among Caltech runners as she crossed the finish line in 5:41.57. Trisha Guchait (5:54.61) rounded out the Caltech runners in the race.

Marlyn Moore toed the line in the 5000 meter race where the senior clocked a time of 21:19.21.

During the men's races, Aditya Bahgavathi ran a personal best 4:02.67 in the 1500 meter race as he finished 21st overall in a field of 101 runners. Eric Martin was just behind him with a time of 4:02.93. Jared Forte completed the race in 4:13.99 while Will Livingston (4:24.13) and Michael Zhang (4:28.77) rounded out the Caltech runners in the race.

Competing in the 10000 meter run was Michael Ignatowich. The graduate student posted a solid time of 33:46.17 which is the third best mark in Caltech history.
