Teams must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher to qualify for the recognition, which only 170 women's and 99 men's teams in Division III earned in 2015.

"This is a great honor for the hard-working student-athletes in our program," Head Coach Ben Raphelson said.  "It serves as further proof that we can achieve at the highest level in both the classroom and athletics."

The Beavers men ranked among the top 20 GPAs in the nation and second in the SCIAC with a 3.40, while the women cracked the top 35 and ranked third in the SCIAC with a 3.50.

Bhagavathi made a list of 297 male student-athletes by virtue of compiling at least a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finishing the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event – the 5,000-meter run.
