NEW ORLEANS, La. (Aug. 1, 2016) – The Caltech men's and women's track & field teams have been named All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA.
Teams must maintain a minimum 3.10 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale to be honored. Caltech represented two of the combined 287 men's and women's teams recognized in all of Division III.
The Beavers enjoyed an impressive spring, which included recording several all-time Top 10 marks and significant improvement in nearly every single student-athlete. On the men's side, senior Morgan Hill (San Diego, Calif. / Wasatch Acad.) broke an 81-year old program record in the hammer throw to earn All-SCIAC honors with a third-place finish at the SCIAC Championships, while the future looks bright as well behind rising sophomore distance runners Rohan Choudhury (Cupertino, Calif. / Monta Vista) and Rohan Doshi (West Windsor, N.J. / West Windsor-Plainsboro North) in addition to junior and sophomore sprinters Alex Bourzutschky (Potomac, Md. / Montgomery Blair) and Ben Calvin (Shawnee, Kan. / Shawnee Mission Northwest). The women's team saw considerable individual success as well, with rising sophomore Michelle Marasigan (Elk Grove Village, Ill. / James B. Conant) and rising senior Lucy Chen (Boonton Township, N.J. / Mountain Lakes) each moving onto a pair of Top 10 lists.
