Wong Sets Mark in Final Game; CMS Posts Win
CLAREMONT, CA - In the final game of the season, the Caltech women's basketball fell to ClaremontMuddScripps 94-48 on Tuesday evening.
During the contest first-year guard Stephanie Wong scored nine points to bring her season total to 374 which surpasses Ada Yu's Caltech record of 365 points in a season. Yu set the record during the 2002-03 campaign.
In addition to her single season season scoring record, Wong nailed 66 three-pointers on the season which tops Lindsay King's previous mark of 38.
The Athenas offense was clicking most of the night as they hit 18 of their 35 field goals in the first half. They continued to shoot effectively in the second half as they grabbed the win. ClaremontMuddSripps went 34-for-70 from the floor (48.6 percent) which included an 8-for-16 effort from behind the arc.
Caltech's offense got a nice performance from sophomore Bridget Connor. The guard scored a team high and personal best 12 points off the bench while grabbing seven rebounds.
In her final game in a Beaver uniform Sarah Wright scored eight points in 22 minutes of action.
Madeline Barnes scored a game high 28 points to lead the ClaremontMuddScripps offense.
