EAGLE ROCK, Calif. (Nov. 24, 2017) – Junior center Elizabeth Eiden (White Plains, N.Y. / Holy Child) led the Caltech women's basketball team in scoring for a second consecutive game when the Beavers took on Augsburg University at Occidental College on Friday as part of the Caltech-Occidental Fall Classic.
Eiden continually found lanes inside and set her surrounding guards up for clean passing outlets for her to finish plays. She utilized her high-percentage skills to score 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go along with six rebounds and two blocks. She also played the entire game, the only player on either team to do so as the Beavers leaned heavily on her inside skills.
The Beavers found few answers defensively for a hot Augsburg team that shot nearly 50-percent from the field and 45-percent from beyond the arc but did hold the Auggies to a 10-point third quarter where the Beavers outscored their opponents by five. Six different Beavers scored in the third frame, including sophomore point guard Grace Peng (San Ramon, Calif. / California) who had 13 points and seven rebounds in 38 minutes of action.
Head Coach Bridgette Reyes and the Beavers will host Lewis & Clark College on Saturday, Nov. 25 in the second leg of the Caltech-Occidental Fall Classic at 3 p.m.
