Eiden Named SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week for Second Time

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (Dec. 17, 2018) – Senior center Elizabeth Eiden (White Plains, N.Y. / Holy Child) of the Caltech women's basketball team took SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season following the team's trip to the Pacific Northwest this weekend.

Eiden had a terrific weekend in defense, hauling in seven rebounds against both Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Puget Sound with nine of those coming on the defensive glass. The senior also notched a pair of steals against Puget Sound and added five of her eight blocked shots for the week in that contest, the second time in three games she has posted a five-block outing. The center is currently on pace to break the single-season blocks record and is already the school record holder in the career blocks category.

Eiden and the Beavers will return to their home floor on Thursday, Dec. 20 against Life Pacific College.
