Women's Soccer Hosts Defending Regular Season Champion

PASADENA (Sept. 8, 2018) – The Caltech women's soccer team took the field against defending SCIAC regular season champion California Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon for its second conference game of the season.

The Caltech defense, led up the middle by freshman midfielder Schuyler Dick (Hudson, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore defender Nayla Abney (Sewell, N.J. / Deptford Township) held the visiting Regals to just two first-half goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Kali Drango (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego) did her part by making 13 saves. Offensively, sophomore midfielder Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) and freshman defender Zoe Beatty (Columbus, Ohio / The Wellington School) paced the Beavers with one shot-on-goal apiece.

Head Coach Taylor Houck and the Beavers will return to North Field on Wednesday, Sept. 12 when they host Whittier College (1-0 SCIAC) at 4 p.m.
