Women's Soccer Challenges Whittier in Season Finale

WHITTIER, Calif. (Oct. 26, 2018) – The Caltech women's soccer team came nearly 20 minutes away from taking SCIAC foe Whittier College to overtime in Saturday's season finale.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kali Drango (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego) was instrumental in keeping the Poets off the board in the first half, making three of her eight saves in the first 45 minutes. Drango finishes the season with 115 saves and a near identical save percentage to last year's total. The Caltech offense began to open up in the second half, with freshmen Zoe Rock (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) and Schuyler Dick (Hudson, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) each generating quality chances for the visitors.

Head Coach Taylor Houck and the women's soccer team will conclude their second season of existence having picked up their first NCAA win while improving on goal differential from 2017's inaugural season.
