LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2019) – Sophomore Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) of the Caltech swimming & diving team has been named SCIAC Women's Diver of the Week for her performance against the University of La Verne on Saturday afternoon.
Brown achieved high scores this year in both the 3-meter and 1-meter en route to first-place finishes in both events. The sophomore scored a 303.55 in the 3-meter event and a 266.20 in the 1-meter event. Her scores helped the Beavers to a 173-121 victory over the Leopards for their third dual-meet victory of the season, marking the first time the women's program has ever had three dual-meet wins in a season. Brown previously qualified for NCAA West Regionals during last week's meet at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and will attempt to advance to the NCAA Championships following SCIACs on Friday, Mar. 1.
Brown and the Beavers are currently beginning preparations for the SCIAC Championships meet, with diving set for next weekend at Pomona-Pitzer while swimming will be contested beginning on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. through the weekend.
