KALAMAZOO, MI - Rebekah Kitto's historic season came to a close at the 2013 NCAA tennis championships.
The junior fell in her opening match to Middlebury's Kia Greger 6-1, 6-0 on Thursday morning in the 32-person tournament. Greger who came into the match ranked 10th in the ITA's northeast region, was a major reason Middlebury advanced to the quarterfinal round of the team championships.
Kitto's completes her year with a 21-2 overall record. She went 19-0 in dual matches which set the Caltech record for most wins in a season. The native of Jacksonville, FL will enter her season she with 44 career wins which is already the most in school history.
She went 6-2 against opponents who were ranked in their respective ITA region. Kitto was ranked 11th in the west region heading into the NCAA Championships. She is the first person in Caltech history to compete at the NCAA Championships.
