Beavers Hold Off ACU 5-4

PASADENA, CA – The Beavers put themselves in the win column with a 5-4 decision over Arizona Christian on Sunday afternoon.

The Beavers started the afternoon by winning two of the doubles matches. The top team of Jenny Sheng and Michelle Lee recorded an 8-6 win while Monica Li and Sophia Chen tallied an 8-0 win at the third spot.

With Caltech holding a 2-1 lead entering singles play they pulled out the top three singles matches. Li won 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles spot. Jenny Sheng dropped just two games in posting a straight sets win at the No. 2 position. Michelle Lee was just as successful in the third singles spot as she won 6-1, 6-2.

Caltech goes above the .500 mark after five matches. The Beavers (3-2) continue with their non-conference matches on Friday when they play Linfield in Indian Wells, CA
