ITA Honors Tennis Programs for Academic Success
PASADENA, CA – The tennis programs at Caltech continue to racked up academic accolades.
For the sixth straight year the men's program was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their team success in the classroom while the women's squad was recognized for the fourth consecutive season. Individually Michelle Tang earned the accolade for the fourth straight season.
"Being selected to the ITA All-Academic Team again this year is a marker of a successful year. It means what we are teaching the student-athletes is working and I am happy for the players, as it means a lot to them to be recognized in this area," head coach Mandy Gamble commented.
All-Academic honors are handed out to teams with a collective GPA over 3.2 and to individuals with a GPA over 3.5 who won varsity letters and were enrolled for at least two semesters at their institution.
The men's team was one of just two SCIAC teams (Pomona-Pitzer was the other) to earn the honor while four women's teams from the league (CMS, Pomona-Pitzer, University of Redlands) were recognized.
