Caltech recently suffered defeats to No. 27 Christopher Newport University and No. 16 University of Mary Washington while missing two of their top four returners from last season due to injury, but continue to garner enough respect to remain on the edge of the rankings thanks to their strong schedule that includes five nationally ranked opponents.  Caltech defeated its lone unranked foe, Colorado College, 7-2.

This marks the first time in program history that both the men's and women's teams have been ranked simultaneously.
