Shorthanded Women's Tennis Falls at No. 8 Sagehens

CLAREMONT, Calif. (Feb. 16, 2019) – Caltech women's tennis picked up another pair of clutch singles wins against No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday morning.

Following last week's epic trio of super tiebreaker singles victories against No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, the still-shorthanded Beavers suffered another doubles sweep with 8-3 defeats at courts one and two but rallied again in singles. Freshman Jennifer Yu (Queens, N.Y. / Stuyvesant) emerged victorious (6-3, 6-3) at court five in her collegiate debut before sophomore Sarina Liu (Rolling Hills, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula) capped the day outlasting her foe in a super tiebreaker at third singles, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-6.

Head Coach Mandy Gamble and the Beavers will return to the court on Monday, Feb. 18 as they host No. 19 Brandeis University at 10 a.m.
