Women's Tennis Takes Two from MIT

PASADENA (Mar. 25, 2019) – The Caltech women's tennis team challenged visiting MIT in Wednesday's in Tuesday's home match and took two points from the visiting Beavers despite coming up on the short end of things.

Freshman Jennifer Yu (Queens, N.Y. / Stuyvesant) came up on the winning side at third singles and remained on-serve with her opponent prior to the MIT player's retirement from the match. Earlier in the day, fellow freshmen Michelle Hyun (Cerritos, Calif. / Gretchen Whitney) and Anna Tifrea (Fullerton, Calif. / Troy) got the win at second doubles to give the home team a chance going into singles action. The freshmen pulled out their match, 8-6, in a competitivem back and forth affair.

Head Coach Mandy Gamble and the Beavers will return to the SCIAC schedule with their next match against No. 37 University of Redlands at 10 a.m. on home court.
