LOS ANGELES, CA - The Caltech women's water polo closed out their regular season portion of the schedule on Saturday afternoon at Occidental.
Occidental, who came into the match as nation's 6th ranked team, came away with a 16-5 victory.
The Tigers scored six unanswered goals to start the game and never looked back in posting the win. After winning the first period 5-0 the homestanding Tigers outscored the Beavers 4-2 in the second period.
Occidental scored four of the five goals scored in the third period as they went up 14-3 after 24 minutes of action. Each team found the back of the cage twice in the final period.
Caltech got a pair of goals from Hanna Dodd and Soumya Kannan while Margaux Lopez rounded out the Beaver scorers. In addition to her goal scoring efforts, Kannann had a personal best five steals in the contest.
Connie Hsueh made 10 saves in front of the cage.
The Beavers will host the SCIAC Championships beginning on Friday at Pasadena City College.
