Johnston Named ACWPC All-America Honorable Mention

PASADENA (May 29, 2019) – Senior Katie Johnston (Livermore, Calif. / Livermore) of the Caltech women's water polo team has been named as an honorable mention on the 2019 ACWPC Women's Division III All-America team.

Johnston is fresh off a strong senior season in line with career numbers to this point. The senior led the women's team to a pair of victories this year over Penn State Behrend and Connecticut College and will go down as one of the most consistent players in the history of the program. Johnston finishes her career atop the all-time drawn exclusions list and second on the all-time scoring list, just one goal behind classmate Brittany Percin (Lake Tahoe, Calif. / Stanford Online).

The ACWPC All-America teams are selected based on nominations and voting by the head coach of each program by National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division (Division I, II, III). The SCIAC dominated the field of recipients, making up the entire First Team and majority of the Second Team.
