CLAREMONT, CA – At the season ending NCAA West Regional, the Caltech cross country teams set a handful of personal best while competing against the area's best teams.
The event was hosted at the Pomona-Pitzer and between the two races, the event featured 20 schools and nearly 400 runners.
Stephanie Reynolds capped off an outstanding season in the women's race. The junior concluded the season by running the 6K jaunt in 24:18. The native of Tallahassee, FL has been the top Caltech harrier in each race during her sophomore and junior years.
Ending their Caltech careers and finishing second and third among Beaver runners were Marlyn Moore and Juliette Becker. Moore nudged out her fellow senior by completing the course in 25:36 while Becker crossed the finish line in 25:47.
A pair of first-year runners rounded out the top five finishers for the Beavers. Parul Pubbi ran a season best 26:17 while Emily Mazo completed the loop in a season best time of 27:01.
Alex Pien clocked a personal best time of 26:58 on the 8K course to finish first among Beaver runners. Ian Koss was the second scoring harrier for the Beavers as he clocked a personal best time of 27:17.
Finishing third for the Beavers was Jared Forte. The junior crossed the finish line in 27:25. In his final race in a Beaver uniform Michael Ignatowich ran the course in a personal best time of 27:30 as the fourth scorer. Juan Adame's time of 27:55 rounded out the top five for Caltech.
