LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2018) – Junior guard Alec Andrews (Folsom, Calif. / Folsom) of the Caltech men's basketball team has been named SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his role in the Beavers' opening night victory over Oberlin College on Saturday.
Andrews led the Caltech offense with 16 points while facilitating his supporting cast with five assists. The junior also shot a cool 7-for-11 from the field, which included going a perfect 2-for-2 on three-pointers, one of which came from more than 28 feet out. The aforementioned three-pointer ended up being the difference between victory and defeat, and nine of Andrews' points came in the first half.
Andrews and the Beavers will return to home floor on Friday, Nov. 11 when they play Occidental College in the annual 110 Rivalry game.
