Men’s Soccer Falls to Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -  Caltech could not score an equalizing goal and Cal Lutheran was able to pull away late for a 4-0 win.

Cal Lutheran opened the scoring in the 29th minute on a goal by Raul Yepez, and Caltech spent the rest of the half looking for the tying goal.  They almost got it at the beginning of the second half as Paolo Bertolotti took a shot that went just wide.  Substitute Alec Sands took a nice shot that was saved less than a minute after entering the game.

However, just after Sands' shot Caltech committed a foul.  Danny Kuntz scored on the ensuing free kick which gave Cal Lutheran a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish.

Cal Lutheran added goals in the 87th and 88th minutes by Yepez and Kyle Fleming to complete the scoring.  Pedro Guillen had the assist on Fleming's goal.

Brice Nzeukou moved to forward for this game and led Caltech with two shots.

Wesley Swank had eight saves for the game including five in the first half which kept Caltech in the match and gave them the opportunity to tie the game.

The Beavers will now turn their attention to the Occidental Tigers who they will host on Saturday.
