Cal Lutheran Stops Caltech's Season Best Offensive Effort

PASADENA, CA - Despite having a season high for shots on goal, the Caltech men's soccer team fell 3-0 on Saturday afternoon to SCIAC foe Cal Lutheran.

The Beavers put five shots on net but Kingsmen goalie Jack Duncan didn't let one go by in producing the shutout.

"I pleased with how we didn't let our previous game carry over into this game," head coach Rolo Uribe said. "We have built a little bit of momentum and we need to carry that into our next game on Wednesday against Redlands. If we continue to battle and press offensively we will find the back of the net."

The game's first goal came in the 32nd minute when Alex Wardle headed home a corner kick from Salvador Orozco. The visitors added to their momentum when Nick Baldi scored less than five minutes later off a deflection in front of the net.

Any hopes of a Caltech come back went by the wayside when Orozco scored on a laser shot from 20 yards out in the 59th minute.

Alec Sands and Evren Gokcen each had a team high two shots for the Beavers.
