LOS ANGELES (Oct. 26, 2015) – The Caltech men's soccer team put two shots on target while junior J.D. Feist (Richardson, Texas / Jesuit College Prep) made eight saves but the Beavers fell in their final away game of the season at Occidental College on Monday night.
The Tigers scored two early goals and put the game out of reach with a third late in the first half before cruising to a 10-0 victory. Oxy improves to 12-3-3 overall and 9-3-3 in the SCIAC while the Caltech dips to 0-15 (0-15).
Freshman Tristan Née (Dallas, Texas / R.L. Turner) put the first shot of the game on goal to force a save in the eighth minute, but Oxy would get on the scoreboard first with strikes in the 11th and 17th minutes. Caltech locked down on defense for the next 25 minutes before the hosts drilled a third goal in the 42nd minute, then netted seven more throughout the second half in the rout. Senior Valentin Skoutnev (Houston, Texas / College Park) created Caltech's other shot on frame in the 64th minute.
Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will finish the season at home on Saturday, Oct. 31 when they host California Lutheran University (2-13-3, 2-11-2) at 2 p.m.
