Yang Makes Second-Team Academic All-America

PASADENA (Dec. 3, 2019) – Senior midfielder Theo Yang (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) of the Caltech men's soccer team earned an NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Second-Team Academic All-America selection from the College Sports Information Directors of America, the organization announced this morning.

After recently learning of his second-consecutive to the Academic All-District team, selected by CoSIDA, this year marks the first time Yang has advanced to the Academic All-America status. The senior co-captain finished his career as a driving force behind the Beavers' recent improvements on the pitch, totalling three goals and four assists on his career while starting in every game he suited up for and providing his team with stellar two-way play. This year, he helped Caltech to its first five-point season since 1987.

Yang earned the Academic All-America selection with equal proficiency in the classroom. The senior chemical engineering major has a 3.96 GPA, good for fourth most among second team selections.
