MARIETTA, Ga. (June 12, 2017) – The Caltech men's tennis program's 2017 recruiting class has been ranked No. 13 in Division III, according to the annual rankings published by tennisrecruiting.net.
Head Coach Mandy Gamble brings in a pair of four-star recruits and another three-star to form the highest-rated class in program history for the third straight year. Caltech is one of four SCIAC institutions to crack the rankings, behind only national runner-up Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges at No. 5 and ahead of perennial NCAA contenders Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (17th) and the University of Redlands (20th). The Beavers are one of just nine programs with at least two four-star committed.
Caltech landed its first national ranked recruiting class last year after its 2015 group received votes in the poll for the first time in history. The 2016 team posted the best finish since 2005, beat a nationally ranked opponent for the first time and earned its first national ranking behind that initial recruiting class, while this past year's squad took on its toughest schedule ever.
