PASADENA, CA - Cal Lutheran took control early and never looked back in posting a 16-5 win over Caltech in SCIAC men's water polo match-up.
After the Kingsmen scored the first two goals of the game, Caltech responded with a five-meter penalty shot goal from Chris Bradley with 6:00 left in the period. Cal Lutheran's offense didn't let up as they scored four straight goals to end the period.
Entering the second frame with a 6-1 edge, the sixth-ranked Kingsmen scored two of the three goals in the stanza as they held an 8-2 lead at the contest's halfway point.
Unfortunately for the home standing Beavers the game's flow didn't change in the third period as the Kingsmen outscored Caltech 4-1 in the quarter in taking a 12-3 lead entering the final eight minutes of action.
Caltech got a pair of goals from Jim Blackwood in the final quarter but Cal Lutheran found the back of the net four times.
In addition to the goals from Bradley and Blackwood, Patric Eck found the back of the cage twice to round out the scorers for the Beavers. Bradley assisted on two goals as well.
Cal Luthern's offense was led by A.J. Franklin's hat trick.
