Men’s Water Polo, Six Individuals Named All-Academic

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2016) – The Caltech men's water polo team has been recognized as All-Academic, with six scholar-athletes also earning individual distinction, by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.

The Beavers compiled a 3.31 GPA as a team to rank seventh in the nation as a team among just 17 from all divisions to make the cut.  Five Beavers – seniors James Blackwood (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula), Patric Eck (Fullerton, Calif. / Troy) and Galen Gao (Irving, Texas / St. Mark's School), junior Christopher Bradley (Half Moon Bay, Calif. / Serra) and sophomore Phillip An (Troy, Mich. / Troy) – were recognized with Superior honors, while sophomore Henry Baer (Acalanes, Calif. / Lafayette) earned Excellent recognition.

The ACWPC recognizes teams which record a cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale and individuals with a 3.20 or higher GPA, with varying levels of distinction.
