PASADENA (Oct. 20, 2017) – Freshman Neil Sanderson (Laguna Beach, Calif. / Winchester) played an aggressive game and potted all five of Caltech men's water polo's goals against visiting Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Thursday evening.
Sanderson initially began to heat up in the second period where he scored three of his five goals. He scored the other two in the fourth period. He also led the Beavers with an additional eight shots and consistently found shooting lanes against the top team in Division III. Five different Beavers assisted on Sanderson's goals and freshman Rahul Arun (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai E Stevenson) headed up the Caltech defense with three steals to lead all players. Sophomore Bradley Justice (El Cajon, Calif. / Grossmont) got the start for Caltech in net and finished the game with six saves.
Caltech matched Pomona-Pitzer with two goals in the fourth period.
Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will be back at home on Saturday, Oct. 21 when they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
