PASADENA (Oct. 20, 2018) – The Caltech women's soccer team played its final home match of the season Saturday afternoon against Chapman University.
The Beavers delivered an inspired effort in front of their home fans on a day where four senior players were recognized before the game, including Hana Keller (Sammamish, Wash. / Tesla STEM), Melissa Gutierrez (Pico Rivera, Calif. / El Rancho), Michelle Marasigan (Elk Grove Village, Ill. / James B. Conant), and Madelyn Stroder (Springfield, Mo. / Greenwood Laboratory).
Caltech held the visitors to one goal per half but also did well with generating their own chances over the full 90 minutes. Forwards Netra Ravishankar (Fremont, Calif. / American) and Zoe Rock (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Horace Greeley) had both Caltech shots-on-goal and sophomore Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) also had a key chance for the Beavers with the shot going just high of the crossbar. Sophomore goalkeeper Kali Drango (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego) stood tall in net with fives big saves, including two against Chapman free kicks.
Head Coach Taylor Houck and the Beavers will play their penultimate game of the 2018 season this Wednesday at Occidental College.
