Goalkeeping Combo Stops Eight at Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2019) – A pair of goalkeepers on the Caltech women's soccer team combined to save nine shots for the Beavers in Saturday's SCIAC game at California Lutheran University.

Freshman Valerie Hetherington (Bozeman, Mon. / Deerfield Academy) started for Caltech and made seven athletic saves in the game's first 66 minutes before giving way to junior Kali Drango (Lake Oswego, Ore. / Lake Oswego). The program saves leader went on to stop one more shot over the game's final 24 minutes as the Beavers were forced to contend with a high-octane Cal Lutheran attack over the game's entirety.

Head Coach Ellery Gould and the Beavers will look to get back on track when they return to Pasadena on Saturday, Sept. 28 to meet Occidental College at 2 p.m.
