PASADENA, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2015) – Caltech women's swimming and diving freshman Brittany Percin (Moraga, Calif. / Stanford Online) has been named the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week.
Percin swept all three individual events she swam on Saturday against Cal Lutheran University and continued her streak of breaking a program record in every meet this season. The rookie took out her 1650 Free two seconds under the previous 1000 mark and finished 23 seconds clear of the mile record, which had been the oldest swimming record in the books (2002). Percin led a trio of Beavers who combined to win eight of the 11 individual events contested on Saturday. She currently holds the third-fastest 1650, fourth 500 Free and leading 200 Free times in the SCIAC this season.
Head Coach Jack Leavitt, Percin and the rest of the Beavers will return to the pool on Friday, Jan. 15 in a dual meet against Mills College.
