Women's Swim and Dive Solid in Final Tune-up vs. Oxy

PASADENA, Calif. (Feb. 2, 2016) – The Caltech women's swimming and diving team threw down another meet full of impressive swims in the regular season finale against Occidental College on Tuesday night.

Freshmen Brittany Percin (Moraga, Calif. / Stanford Online) won both her individual events by roughly three seconds each, including a half-second improvement in the 100 Fly as she clocked a 1:00.50.  Freshman Gemma Takahashi (San Jose, Calif. / Leland) blew away the field in the 100 Back as well and junior Zofii Kaczmarek (New York, N.Y. / Stuyvesant) fine-tuned her dive list as the only competitor on both boards.  Junior Kate Evans (Cumming, Ga. / Lambert) shaved another four seconds off her personal best 200 Free time and a further eight from last week's 500 Free, touching in 6:48.80.  Senior Tiffany Zhou (Brentwood, Calif. / Heritage) capped a memorable Senior Day with yet another one-second drop in the 50 Free.

The Beavers also bade farewell to a trio of graduating seniors competing in their final home meet - Alexandra Ilic (Austin, Texas / Westlake)Grace Lee (Artesia, Calif. / Gretchen Whitney) and Zhou.

Head Coach Jack Leavitt and the Beavers will begin their final preparations for the SCIAC Championships, which will be hosted by Chapman University at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 18-22.
