Brown Makes Regional Diving Debut at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa (Mar. 1, 2019) – Sophomore Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills) of the Caltech women's swimming & diving team competed at her first NCAA West Regional Diving Championships this Saturday at Grinnell College. Brown is the first Caltech diver to represent the Beavers at regionals in the last decade and was one of five SCIAC representatives in this year's 14-woman field.

Brown had her greatest success over the weekend competing off the 1-meter board on Saturday amidst a very tight regional field. The sophomore scored a 323.70, finishing just under 50 points off of her best round of diving of the season, which occurred at this year's SCIAC Championships. Brown also competed in the 3-meter competition, where she scored a 294.25 coming in behind her SCIAC Championship total by 40 points. Brown will look to return to regionals as a junior in hopes of improving upon her impressive standing as the west region's 14th-best diver.
